Why Fast?

The United States of America. We are held together by a form of government called a democracy which allows the majority to govern. Thankfully we all abide by it. But philosophically, we are The Divided States of America.

We are fairly split on issues such as abortion, a means to economic growth, the war on terrorism, supreme court decisions, the gay rights issue, the role God plays in our society, and who should be our president.

Because our nation is deeply divided, we believe President Obama needs not only our prayers, but fasting as well. Fasting takes it to the next level with God. (Mark 9:29 “He replied, ‘This kind can come out only by prayer and fasting.’”) President Obama is walking into some of the most challenging times in America’s history.

We here at UnveilinGLORY believe in the power of prayer and fasting. And we know God’s command to pray for our president: (1 Timothy 2:1,2: I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness). For eight years we have mobilized thousands in the body of Christ to lift up our president before the throne of God and we will continue on.

Join us. Whether you are in the 53% that voted for him or the 46% that voted against him, we are Christians first and voters second. Take it to the next level. The Scriptures clearly call us to be behind our president. God wants to bless him, and our nation, for His name’s sake.
